Depths of Reality

A ttrpg of psychological subnautical horror for one GM and 2-5 players.

Depths of Reality is a game of tragic horror where you portray the crew of a submarine, diving ever deeper in the black ocean to fulfil their final mission. It will be a desperate race against time, as oxygen reserves dwindle, the increasing pressure cracks the outer hull, and even reality itself starts to break down.

As time passes, it won’t just be your vessel getting torn apart by the currents, but your very person as well. Can you hold on to who you are, or will your psyche be torn apart by the depths?

Depths of Reality is designed for one-shots, giving you all the tools to run a session with minimal to no preparation. You'll need someone to run the game, some players, a bunch of six-sided dice, and some printouts.

Your crew will have to keep their subnautical vessel in fighting shape as it descends ever further, with tears in the hull being represented by actual tears in the paper. Eventually, the crew's minds will start to rip alongside the hull, making players tear apart their character sheet, even removing access to certain parts of the rules, as their descent into madness continues.

The game comes with a module, the Macrophage, that provides everything you need for play. Character sheets, a sheet representing your submarine, and a list of nasty and horrific events for the GM to throw at you. Next to no prep required!
